COVID-19 Statement
The Coronavirus pandemic is a challenge unlike any Arlington has faced in our lifetimes. It has taken the lives of 283 of our neighbors and that number continues to climb. The health of everyone in our community is at stake in each of our decisions.
We each have a responsibility to get vaccinated. Arlington has one of the highest vaccination rates in Virginia, but the benefits of the vaccine far outweigh the risks. We also each should get boosted and both young children and teenagers, in my view based on the science, should get vaccinated. Doing so prevents hospitalizations and fatalities and is part of our shared responsibility. When needed and whenever we are in doubt, we must also practice social distancing, wear a mask whenever we are at risk of coming into contact with those outside our household, and wash our hands often to rid ourselves of the particles that can lead to infection.
Our health, hunger, housing, and economic recovery are my priorities. The day to day facts will change, so below I provide you with links to key websites that are updated daily to provide you with the information you need to stay safe and keep our community as safe as possible.
COVID-19 Resources
If you are interested in volunteering to help your community in this unprecedented time of need, visit the Arlington Community Corps website. If you are on facebook, and I acknowledge there are reasons why many thoughtful individuals are not, the Arlington Neighbors Helping Neighbors through COVID-19 group is one I recommend.
